Why Specify Rockwool for a Roof?

Rockwool roof panels are particularly relevant when fire performance is an important part of the roof specification. Compared with foam-core insulation systems, Rockwool provides a mineral wool core and can also offer useful acoustic performance. The required fire classification, however, should always be verified from the certified performance of the complete panel system.

The thermal and weather performance of a roof sandwich panel depends not only on the panel itself but also on panel joints, fasteners, overlaps, flashings and roof penetrations. Correct installation is particularly important around ridge sheets, gutters, skylights and MEP penetrations, where poor detailing can lead to water leakage or thermal bridges.
